Today marks 175 years since the fall of the Alamo. In 1836, a few hundred Texas revolutionaries defended the small mission against General Antonio López de Santa Anna and thousands of Mexican soldiers. On March 6, after 13 days of siege, the Mexicans took the Alamo and killed nearly all of its defenders. Texas revolutionaries finally defeated Santa Anna’s army April 21, 1836, at San Jacinto.
